CAMERA, LIFT CORRECTLY and IF YOU WORK SAFELY (2023) are three photographic contact prints that collage and reproduce print material produced between 1975 and1985, including posters by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents; gaymagazines Zipper and Male Shots; and a Camera Magazine cover by Otto Steinert titled ‘Subjective Photography’. Hand developed using instant coffee, a stimulant used across domestic, public and workplace settings, the prints consider how safety and instructional messaging is reproduced and conforms individuals to social structures and anxieties.
